Ship repair services at port

Sửa-chữa-cont-1

During operation, many reasons cause ships to wear out, be damaged locally and deteriorate over time. To increase the life of ships, a major problem is the need for repairs. Ship repair is a service that must ensure high technical requirements and ensure the shortest repair time, because this is an issue of great economic significance. The basic tasks of ship repair are:
– Ensuring the normal operation of the ship during the entire period of operation, preventing damage to equipment and the ship’s hull.
– Ensuring quick repair time.
– Refitting and improving the ship’s operating features, extending its service life.

Based on the tasks set, Repair work can be divided into the following 4 forms:

– Maintenance: Is the lowest form of repair, carried out partly during operation, partly at the port. The main work is cleaning, checking machinery and painting the hull above the water.
– Minor repairs: This work is carried out periodically every year. The main tasks are to repair damage discovered during maintenance that could not be repaired due to lack of equipment, and to scrape rust and paint the underwater part of the hull.
– Medium repair: is a form of medium repair, carried out 2-3 times between 2 major repairs. The works included part of that year’s minor overhaul work and also carried out repairs or replacements of some individual equipment that was no longer able to function normally, as well as repairs and replacements of some hull components. The purpose is to maintain the normal operation of the ship during the period between two overhauls.
– Overhaul (major repair): The task of this work is to thoroughly repair the ship’s hull, equipment and machinery, in order to restore the original technical condition. The time between two overhauls is usually 9 – 12 years.
